What does the Milbrook membership think about the Patio Project?

Sitting in the audience, as the Building Committee presented the Patio Project, I had to wonder : Do we need all this?  Do we want all this? Do we want to pay for all this?
During the Q & A session after the presentation it was clear many others had similar thoughts.

This blog is meant to be a forum for members to post their thoughts about the Patio Project for all to share. If enough people participate we should be able to gauge what the membership wants and what it doesn't.

Please feel free to comment in favor or against the various parts of the Project. We would like to get an idea of how many are enthusiastic about what. After all, we're talking about spending a couple of million dollars on this. We should be more than just 'okay' with it.

  The ground rules are few.

Just to get things started, the following are my thoughts on the project :

     1. The awnings seem all wrong in front of the clubhouse. They don't fit in with the stately main clubhouse   and they come too far in front of it. And I don't think many people will want to dine out there when it is raining.

     2. Losing the putting green. And I say losing it and not moving it on purpose, because 90% of golfers who might want to take a few putts before teeing off will not bother take a cart up to the practice area. I don't think I've ever played on a course that didn't have a practice putting green within a short walk of the 1st tee.
And remember, we are not only losing a putting green, we are paying to lose it.

   3. The new stone-walled entrance from Woodside Dr through the current putting green up to the main clubhouse entry. Who is ever going to use this? People coming by car will walk in from the parking lot and people being driven will be dropped off under the porte-cochere.
